Well what a week! Alan and I have recieved a shipment of Bull Dog Gin bottles which are a gorgeous dark purple/black. We are very excited to see how it goes through the kilns to see if we are able to offer a black recycled glass worktop. We have limited supply at the moment, but are working on increasing it!

The only problem with these bottles is that they come with a white painted label which will not come off easily. We have to grind the labels off one bottle at a time. With 600 bottles to a pallet and 3 pallets to get through we have spent 3 days grind and smashing these bottles and we still have 1 pallet to get through!!

On the 6th March 2012 Bottle Alley Glass (Recycled Glass Products Ltd) was bought by Father and Daughter, Alan and Philippa Ashbee.

Both Alan and I (Philippa) have been working in Bottle Alley Glass for over a year and half and are passionate about our recycled glass products.

We are currently moving premises from Wheldrake in York to Thorpe Arch in Wetherby, but staying within Yorkshire, the home of glass.

Just bought a LED light panel 1200mm x 670mm and it works brilliantly behind the recycled glass bottle fused sheets. Ideal for splash backs and wall decorations....

Can't wait for the translucent and semi translucent panels to come out of R&D as they will be even better than the ceramic panels, although the light panel does enhance and show off the various cullet sizes.

If you are in Yorkshire please pop into www.bottlealleyglass.co.uk in Wheldrake near York and see our small commercial fusing business. Please call me on 01904 448786 asking for Alan and I will make sure I'm there to show you around. We cullet glass bottles destined for landfill and fuse into sheets/slabs for fabrication into exciting products/projects.
