COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this seminar is to make an expressive form of the human figure suggested by a garment made in glass.
In the first class you will be guided in the design and characterization, proportions, posture, movement of the fabric, etc., through modeling clay.
You will creat a matrix mold that will allow you to use it and repeat as many times as necessary. You will cut the glass to the proper size and use different techniques in making the details.
There will be 2 firings: one flat, a second one on the mold, and the final cold work.
The seminar will take 4 days, and I will track each piece individually.
As a group we will discuss different ideas and I will share my work process, from the original concept, the emotions that are behind the piece, including creative and technical variations of each sculpture.
