Do you use the Bain books in designing your celtic knots?

Well here I was surfing with coffee in hand and got onto these Celtic knot things! Surfing is perhaps for me the greatest mind expander activity there is! Anyway I was curious about Stephen's reference to Bain's book, and then history ...on it goes. This webpage is interesting with the history discussed and not being so dry you click off.

and having never added a link to a blog or blog comment I hope that works! There is a summary of the book in Google books though being in print it is just the first perhaps dozen pages.

I have never done a Celtic knot in glass but maybe in one of "those" moments it will attract me. My wife has pushed for one now and then so it more of a probability.

Cleaning! I clean as I go usually. The workspace I have is small by any standard so neatness is a must. My studio is in my garage and I use approx half the space for glass. Hmmmm I have never measured this space so let's see ....brb. Okay it is 12' deep by 11' wide but this does include shelving, toolboxes, a bench 4' x 3', another bench 3' x 6', and the light box 20" x 30". More or less there is an aisle down the center is it. When we're both present it can be a dance; good thing I love her! I do clean and put everything away completely in it's respective place at the end of each day. Makes it easier to begin fresh in the morning approaching an orderly space with everything in its place. Beth on the other hand sounds more like you she piles it up as she goes keeping her immediate workspace in front of her only clear enough to do the work at hand. We get by though. I came back to your blog after moving some cardboard about on the light table to block the light around a pattern/glass so I could see the lines better and heard that telltale clink & tinkle that something had been pushed a bit too far! It was, luckily; just a few narrow strips of glass I had set aside to make small crosses with sometime. Now and then it doesn't ALL get put away *sigh.* No big loss there though. More attention to detail in the future. Good luck with your knots love to see them when you finish!
