Question:  What is the overall process for article submission?

Answer:

  1. Members wishing to write for the site initially register as an "Author Member" on the website (or change their profile to Author Member).
  2. The member then writes an article and submits it.
  3. The article is reviewed within 14 days and either approved (published with minor editing) or rejected (an email is sent confirming why and suggestions for improvement).
  4. When an article is approved, you will receive a confirmation email.

 

Question: what types of articles are you interested in?

Answer: Topics we would like articles written about include:

  • Beginners tips and tricks
  • Business and marketing a glass artistry business
  • Glass working techniques
  • Glass artistry design
  • Mass producing glass works
  • Step-by-step projects
  • Tools
  • Safety & Ergonomics

For product reviews, we are open to any product you have tried and can write an objective, honest and professional review about.  You must not be a supplier, manufacturer, distributor or competitor of the product.

Question: How do I change my profile to an "Author" member account?

Answer: please follow these instructions.


Question: What should I know about payment of tips for authors?

Answer: We recommend you re-review the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when you joined, specifically to review the section titled: "Community Contributed Content: Articles and Product Reviews".

 

Question: How much of a the tip do I receive?

Answer: At the bottom of each authored article is a link to donate to the tip jar.  The donated tip is split between the author and GlassCommunity.com.  Authors receive 70% of the donated tip and Wirth Consulting (the editor & publisher of Glass Community) receives 30% of the donated tip.

 

Question: When are Tips paid?

Answer: All tips owed to each Author are collected by GlassCommunity.com and paid to the Author on or around the 15th of each month via PayPal. Tips are paid when the total tips per author reaches US$10.

 

Question: How am I paid my tips?

Answer: It is important you specify a PayPal address in your profile otherwise we will be unable to pay you.  See these instructions for specifying your PayPal address in your profile.
